nmatt
I've installed XPize and used the backup feature. Well, I wanted to uninstall it and it didn't work. I then reinstalled it and tried to uninstall it again, checking all of the needed options, and it still didn't work. What do I do?

XPize modifications remains? Shortcuts remains? The C:\WINDOWS\XPize folder remains?
nmatt
Ah. Well, everything remains except for the install folder and shortcuts. The modifications to the system prompts and "Please Wait" screen are the most obvious.
XPero
What do you mean by "I've installed XPize and used the backup feature"?
nmatt
When I installed there was an option to keep the Visual Style and normal settings for backup when you uninstall. :X
XPero
I think you did something wrong. Now that you dont have backup files, there is no way to revert back XPize modifications.
nmatt
... Please tell me you are joking. I installed everything the correct way, reading the instructions and reading what I was checking. When I uninstalled it, I followed the instructions provided and made sure I was removing everything. Nothing was removed.
XPero
Tell me your system specs. Language, XP versionm SP level and any other info you may think that can help me to solve your problem.
nmatt
Windows XP SP. 2 English, 1GB Ram, Sempron 3000+; There's also only one user on the machine.
XPero
Ok, nothing strange ono those specs. Now, correct me:1) you installed XPize and then rebooted2) after rebooting your computer (or some days after install) you ran the uninstaller and checked everything for uninstall and rebooted3) after uninstall, nothing changed. Your system was/is as if XPize is still installed (except C:\WINDOWS\XPize has been removed. If all this is true, then I simply can't understand why it happened. It's simply impossible. You did something in between (after uninstalling and restarting)?
nmatt
Yeah, I did all of those things. I'm not a novice at installing things, so I have no idea if I did anything wrong.Sure it's probable, but I don't recall messing up.Either way, is there any way to get it back? :|
XPero
I would recommend you a repair install of XP.
nmatt
Alright. It's nothing entirely drastic (I do like what you all have offered) so I'm not going to fret about it. Thanks for the help, though.
XPero
Did you make a system restore point with XPize?
nmatt
Actually, yes. The first time I installed it. I completely forgot about that. I may use it in a bit. xDThanks for reminding me. ;-;
