highv0ltage Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Hello, I purchased the upgrade of XP Pro and whenever I try to do an unattended install, it doesn't work because it tries to look for a previous version of windows first. Is there anyway I skip this, or slipstream a portion of Windows 98 in the install. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Bezalel Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Create a file \win98\setup.exe on your CD. The contents aren't important, if setup finds this file it thinks it found a Windows 98 CD.
Sonic Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Good to know Bezalel !It's more legal than setupp.ini way ...

highv0ltage Posted January 28, 2006 Author Posted January 28, 2006 Well, that didn't seem to work. It's still asking for a CD from a previous version.
BoardBabe Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Create a file \win98\setup.exe on your CD. The contents aren't important, if setup finds this file it thinks it found a Windows 98 CD.Sounds too simple
highv0ltage Posted January 30, 2006 Author Posted January 30, 2006 So I take it there's no way to do this?
