I've been looking around the past couple of days for a standard MCE bootscreen, I never came across one so I decided to put one togeather myself. Its nothing specal, I just added Media Center Edition under Windows XP and rebuilt the ntoskrnl. Tested and works, hope someone will find it useful.

Nothing new

Since after the intoduction of MCE 2002 (along with SP1)

M$ provided an overlay image for respective OS (home,Pro,MCE,TPC) in ntoskrnl

so depeding on the version u install on booting it show respective version name

that means there are atleat two images in the ntoskrnl ,one shows the windows logo with written Windows XP

then the overlay it shows the respective version superimposed over that image

i found that there were around 9 images showing the version

aka

Home Edition

Professional

Media Center Edition

Tablet PC Edition

.net

.net Server

.net Web Edtion

.net Server Family
