Nakatomi2010
Hey, I own a media center PC (XP Professional VLM) which I've used the More than one Concurrent Connection tweak on in order to allow me to remotely connect as one user to initiate downloads, while the other user logged in locally can be watching movies and stuff... Works pretty **** well too...Well, I was having trouble with the wife's laptop (XP Home OEM) so I did a format and reload and installed XPize in the process. So, clean install on a computer which has been able to log in remotely before, meaning that XPize was also a fresh install. (Minus CMD and bootscreen mods).Everytime I'd try connecting to the remote machine it'd spit back "It's either too busy or not accepting, contact the administrator", well after paging myself a couple of times I finally decided to respond and help. My OTHER computer (XP x64) was able to log in without any issues, so going back to the laptop I uninstalled XPize, and it worked like a charn after that...In short: XPize wasn't letting me connect remotly, no I don't know why...Anyone else had this problem? srotman
i dont have EXACTLY the same problem as youi'm using the latest version (4.2) and i find that when i remote into my comp at home (both my laptop that i use when i'm out, and my desktop at home that i remote into have 4.2 installed ON FRESH RECENTLY FORMATTED WINDOWS INSTALLS!) my speeds at remote controlling has SIGNIFICANTLY slowed down!when u establish a remote connection you can choose the colour depth and i usually use 256 colour cuz i dont need something fancy, i just want access, but with 4.2, the mouse cursor on the remote end looks all "blotchy" and im not sure why because I have "themes" disabled for remote browsing. i think xpize has a problem with switching the mouse cursor to a standard one when a remote desktop session is connected. overall tho, in 256 colour the remote controlling is smooth aside from the mouse cursor optionwhen i connect in 15bit or higher colour the mouse cursor problem goes away (i guess this means the cursor for xpize is in too high of a quality for 256) but my remote controlling is SLOW. i move my mouse on my laptop and it takes a couple seconds for my home comp to respond.i NEVER has any of this before 4.2 and i ALWAYS had a smooth remote desktop session. just thought id give my 2 centsEDIT: just realized something, before 4.2 i ONLY had xpize on my laptop, NOT my desktop, so this problem clearly isnt native to 4.2. ive just never tested any earlier version on my desktop. regardless, the problem exists with the most current version, so thats the current issue Edited February 1, 2006 by srotman
