Unable to install Intel Application Accelerator on my pc

Hi Friends,

First of all "Happy New Year To All !!" . Have a great year ahead.

Now the problem...

Recently I have re-installed WindowXP Pro. Totally fresh copy. After this installed lot of softwares, but forgot to installed Intel Application Accelerator drivers. Now I am unable to install the driver. The installation goes smoothly. However when I try to verify the driver installation, I get the message "Drivers not installed".

My system configuration is

Motherboard - Intel 845GBV

Chipset - Intel 845G

RAM - DDR266 512 MB

Graphics Card - NVidia Ge Force 5200 on AGP slot

In the Device Manger under IDE/ATA Controller, the first controller listed is

Intel® 82801DB Ultra ATA storage controller - 24CB. I have no idea from where this storage controller came in, before reinstall it was used to be Ultra ATA Controller.

The intel chipset identification utility (chiputil.exe v3.05) identifies the following

Detected Chipset - Please use version 2.91 of the utility to identify your chipset

Memory Controller: Failed to identify your chipset

I/O Controller: Intel® 82801DB I/O controller hub (ICH4)

Integrated Graphics: Not Detected or Disabled

I haven't tried v2.91 yet.

So I am not sure what is going on? Why I am unable to install app accelerator ? I guess that storage controller is causing the problem (just a wild guess). Initially I thought the NVidia drivers may be causing the problem, so I removed the AGP card, uninstalled the drivers. Installed Intel Graphics Accelerator drivers, but still I was unable to install app accelerator. I am trying to install intel app accelerator v2.3, but I have tried installing older versions also but no luck.

Can someone please help me in installing the app accelerator?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Hi,

Sorry for a late reply. I did everthing right as suggested by the IAA installer. The chipset software installation utility is installed properly and I have also verified that, but somehow just no luck installing IAA.

I am able to update the drivers for IAA so that it shows

Intel® 82801DB Ultra ATA controller instead of Intel® 82801DB Ultra ATA storage controller

but as soon as I reboot my computer it again goes back to

Intel® 82801DB Ultra ATA storage controller.

Seems like reinstall of OS is the only option left :(

Regards.
