fonsbo Posted December 28, 2005 Share Posted December 28, 2005 HiI have an old Toshiba cd rom that works fine in XP64 and I have an old Yamaha CDRW4261 that Win xp can't see. Bios finds them both ok and I made a firmwareupdate on the Yamaha drive on another pc with normal XP 32 where the drive works fine.Why can't XP 64 see the Yamahadrive? Stead Posted December 31, 2005 Share Posted December 31, 2005 I've had this problem,although slightly different, xp64 recongised the drive, but after you log on it would take between 20-60 minutes to reach the desktop,. after getting very frustrated for a while i realised it was the cd drive i use, xp32 works fine, thats an a-open drive Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
