Customize the Boot Message

hey all thought id post a small tutorial for those who dont know about this

im gonna customize this screen

to do so we'll need a small app some of you may have it

its a trusty hex editor i use XVI32

Make a backup of this next file b4 modifying it

so now that u have that, open it up & browse to x:\xpcd\i386\BOOTFIX.BIN

go down to where it says "Press Any Key.. " on the right.. you can modify that, by typing in what you want it to say

(look at my above pic for an example)

Problem 1: ive found "Adding" extra characters beyond what microsoft has put there will make it quickly change past the text and goto booting from harddrive

ive only briefly experimented with this, so if u find any problems post em!
