RJARRRPCGP Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 (edited) Tried it today.Same story again, windows files get corrupt when I push up speeds. Even after reducing the HT bus!My old AthlonXP used to over-clock much better So either processor (Sempron64) sucks, or my RAM modules suck. That really sucks! In fact, that sounds more like my K6-2 450 mhz! (But I can't recall Windows getting corrupted from the OC)I would get lock ups at just +50 mhz! Edited May 2, 2006 by RJARRRPCGP
puntoMX Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 RJARRRPCGP,Did you read what prathapml wrote in his last post?If you folowed his way you would get more out of your CPU then just 50MHz more.
3aces Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 (edited) The AMD Sempron64 2500+ (socket 754, Rev. E6) runs at a native frequency of 1.4 GHz.People claim to have pushed it up to 2.2 GHz!!!!!With just the normal heatsink/fan, and an nForce4 MoBo, any idea how far it can go?It flips out on me, for the most part.... (previously, AthlonXP's used to over-clock very well, with FSB going up all the way to 231 MHz!)i ahve the same setup as yours except i have a 2800+, i got up to 2ghz but cant get it any higher, system refuses to even boot.. but i have got a 400mhz increase out of it and it seems pretty stable to me so i consider it to be a good overclock, but if anyone has any ideas how i can get it higher let me know!!edit: im using a zalman 7700cu cooler just incase it helps Edited May 3, 2006 by POW!!
puntoMX Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 (edited) Play with your memmory timings, that could get you to 2100/2200 in most cases. Read this too . Edited May 3, 2006 by puntoMX
