I like it because it is packed full of great information to help me learn more.But i do have a question which does not seem to be amoung the 100s of posts. Apart from Windows 2000 which other windows operating systems can i consider as a network operating system?Thanks.

December 15, 200520 yr Generally no, but they do have the ability to run alot of open source apps but the core OS is closed source.
December 15, 200520 yr linux is open source: - and has many good distributions: some example: [*]Fedorra Directory Server (based on Redhat): a good Network server (like MS Directory Services) [*]Complete Webserver (CWS) A verre good Out of the Box Webserver installation[*]Zenwalk linux Small Lighweight Desktop linux, with just 1 aplication for every task its enought to get the job done. also there is Open Solaris, and windows 3.11 for workgroups
