Aegis Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 For $30 more, I can spend my (precious) money on a 6800GT. Question is if it's worth it? Having four extra pipelines is the only advantage I can see...
ripken204 Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 the gs has higher clocks so im not rly sure. if you dont care then get the gs
Ðrзω™ Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 GS is only a fraction slower at default speeds, but when overclocked it whips the GT's a**.Go for the GS, save the money and do a quick overclock n get better performance.. There is a few reviews of the card on various sites, google for it and you'll see benchmarks(and also, the GS has loads available, its VERY hard finding a 6800GT card nowadays)
Aegis Posted December 8, 2005 Author Posted December 8, 2005 But what if I overclocked the 6800GT? If they were to have equal clocks, would the GT beat the GS due to the extra pipelines? And theoretically, isn't it possible to get near-6800 Ultra performance on the GT since they have very similar cores? BTW I like your avatar Drew .
