im trying to install winxp pro from a mapped drive. i go to z:\i386\winnt.exe and it says that an internal error occured because there is no place to put the swap file. any idea how to MAKE IT WORK! lol thanks.

Hmmm...Never done that before because its easier to install it from a CD...

People have their reasons for using other methods, because it eases deployment among several computers and such. :)

yeh.. i think its the best way of doing it for lots of networked pc's.. too much of a hassle to install via cd all the time.. back to topic.. what do u mean theres no place for the swap file?

Yes, the swap file is also another term for the paging file. :)

do you know what would be making this happen? mem? i have enough. hd space? enough there too, i do have an older install of xp on it. but shouldn't matter

oh.. just found out ya can't move it or anything.. but it is possible to do it via Dos prompt.. copy function and put it to the hdd u want :)
