Aegis Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 This is a simple guide for removing SFC. The advantage of removing instead of patching it is that you save a few KBs and also you don't need any fancy tools. Here's how:1. Open up C:\Windows\System32 where C:\ is your Windows drive2. Find sfc.dll and sfc_os.dll3. Rename the files to sfc.bak and sfc_os.bak4. Restart your computer5. Repeat step 1, then delete the folder dllcache and the files sfc.bak and sfc_os.bak
jimmsta Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 whoa... deleting the sfc*.dll files doesn't cause problems? Well then... looks like my next install will be without sfc!
Sonic Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I'm on testing when I can, but for me the only method works is in safemode ... I will post my result ...
