Cable internet setup question...

at the end of the month, im planning to subscribe a cable internet.. i have only 1 computer but i want to share the internet to my 2 cousins who lives just beside my room... now what i want to know is how ima goin to do this? what hardware shud i buy? whats a router & whats a switch hub? whats the difference between the two

another important question... What services & components shud i keep in Nlite for Cable Internet to work? i dont want to file sharing & Windows Firewall,,, thnx a lot!

The only hardware you need,. is a router, and some CAT5e cable, long enough to reach from the router to your 2 cousins computers, so you'd need two lengths of CAT5e, for cable internet to work you dont really need any specific services you only need a few specific services if you wish to file share, also another thing to remember is try to keep the lengths of cord under (150ft?) i think otherwise you'll experience signal loss

If you have a router you don't need the windows firewall/ICS service.

ok guys thnx for the reply.. so this means the speed will not be shared? assuming i got 350kbps? each of us recieves that speed also? or will it be divided into three? thnx..

It will only be divided if the three computers are using the internet connection at the same time.
