Cable internet setup question...

Featured Replies

at the end of the month, im planning to subscribe a cable internet.. i have only 1 computer but i want to share the internet to my 2 cousins who lives just beside my room... now what i want to know is how ima goin to do this? what hardware shud i buy? whats a router & whats a switch hub? whats the difference between the two :blushing:

another important question... What services & components shud i keep in Nlite for Cable Internet to work? i dont want to file sharing & Windows Firewall,,, thnx a lot!

The only hardware you need,. is a router, and some CAT5e cable, long enough to reach from the router to your 2 cousins computers, so you'd need two lengths of CAT5e, for cable internet to work you dont really need any specific services you only need a few specific services if you wish to file share, also another thing to remember is try to keep the lengths of cord under (150ft?) i think otherwise you'll experience signal loss
