Sorry, you are rigth no installation is needed, but you still need dotnet 2.0

.NET 2.0 should be installed on all PCs anyways. More and more programs are being developed for .NET framework, so there's not really any reason not to install it.

I agree with the above statement 100%.

If you want newly developed applications to run on your computer

you will soon realize you will also need to install dotnet 2.0 to run them.

You dont get it, where were talking about standalone applications, portable ones if you prefer, I think you missed a recent software evolution :D
