November 2, 200520 yr Hello.I'm trying to get office 2003 installed from UNC path so that itwould also install that local installation source, MSOcache. This waythe updates can be installed without the original UNC install source. But the problem is that I cannot get the install to do it. I don't knowwhat I'm doing wrong.I have office install files (.cab, setup.exe, setup.ini and custom.mst)in my UNC path and i have no problems with install but that local MSOcache folder. In setup.ini I've tried lines:[Cache]ENFORCECACHE=1LOCALCACHEDRIVE=c:\(I have the newer setup.exe)I also tried these lines:[Cache]PURGE=0CDCACHE=autoDELETEABLECACHE=0and I've tried to run setup.exe with switch /b like told herehttp://helpnet.installshield.com/robo/proj..._EXECmdLine.htmShould that MSOcache folder even appear with these install options?
November 4, 200520 yr Is the insatllation point an administrative installation. If so this will not work you cant get the cache to work from a Administrative installation point which also means that you cant slipstream the service pack into your installation files and still bea bel to cache them. You must use an original CD or a copy of the files from an original CD and then apply the service pack to the installation after the initial install is completed.
November 5, 200520 yr The other think you can do is with the administrative install. you can create a custom mst file to create a local installation source using the okr.exe
November 5, 200520 yr An admin install does not create the cache, and also does not require the cache or the original cd to create a new user profile. http://unattended.msfn.org/intermediate/ap...ipstreaming.htm
November 8, 200520 yr Author Now I managed to do it. I just put these ENFORCECACHE=1 LOCALCACHEDRIVE=c:\ straight to setup command. For somereason it did not do the cache when I had those in setup.ini.
November 26, 200520 yr It does not work for me. For some reason no matter what I do... if I put ENFORCECACHE=1 in my setup.ini or call it from the commandline with that... it comes up with this error:Fatal Error During Installation. Andi it does not install. All I can think is it has a problem with the amount of disk space for some reason... but I have over 50GB free on both hard drives.I am using the new setup as well.Anybody else having this issue? Anyone know what may be going wrong?
July 17, 200620 yr I'M RUNNING INTO THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS SIGINET...."FATAL ERROR DURING INSTALLATION" . I SUCCESSFULLY SLIPSTREAMED SP2 AND THE HOTFIXES BUT NOW IT DOESN'T CREATE THE MSOCACHE FOLDER. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED! THX IN ADVANCE.
