HELP w. unattended MST file

Featured Replies

Hi all,

have an admin installation of Office 2003 w.SP2 slipstreamed and would like to make a MST file for an unattended installation using Resource kit Tools as explained here: http://unattended.msfn.org/intermediate/ap...03_advanced.htm

but when I come to the last step of the guide (this one: http://unattended.msfn.org/intermediate/im...03/custom3.gif) I CAN NOT change the TRANSFORM switch from "TRANSFORM=C:\(my folder)\Unattended.mst" to "TRANSFORM=Unattended.mst".

Any change I made to that line won't happen. Can anybody explain me why ?

I was thinking to edit this MST file using the MST file viewer (included in the resource kit) and then rename the file from .txt to MST,but I'm not sure what I have to edit and if this is the correct solution....

With that last screen.. all it is doing is giving you the run path. Those parameters are not embedded into the mst file. Just copy and paste the text and change it to what you want when you run it.

I can't change it too. I can't write this parameters just because the program don't let me do it

I Copied the line from that last window & stuck it in a batch file to run. I only modifed to put correct paths to exe & mst files..

"\\server\it$\Software\Office\Office 2003\CD1\setup.exe" TRANSFORMS="\\server\it$\Software\Office\Office 2003\cd1\New Custom Setup File.MST" /qb-

i found that using a unc path does not work....map a drive

UNC paths do work as long as you quote the path as spaces in a directory name will cause it not to run. see my previous string I posted as an example. this works fine for me& so do all my other UNC Path commands
