XP Unattended variable product key

Hi all,

Is there a way to have a fully unattended installation except asking the user to enter the product key?

I can use AutoPartition=0 to have the user setup the partition, but what about the product key?

I know the other way is to provide defaults for all the inputs, and let the user change them, but i would like to have fully unattended.

Just don't provide the key entry in winnt.sif

or provide an unvalid/uncomplete Product Key .

xp will ask you for a valid one.

oh that could work.. i tried xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx and it wouldn't let me continue, so i guess i have to put something similar to a real one?

Hmm, im pretty sure if you just remove the following part from your winnt.sif file (in i386 dir), you will be promted for a CD key as "normal".

[UserData]
ProductKey=XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

I you use "default hide" mode in winnt.sif any information you do not insert, setup will prompt the user for;

[unattended]UnattendMode=DefaultHide
