purg99
Ive never had a codec problem before but always relied on codec packs to do the work for me.Just been testing an unattended rebuild that worked without a problem. Then came the time I wanted to watch a movie (xvid)!!! After running the full klite codec pack and using windows media player. The picture is washed out and a little corrupted aka unwatchable. So I thought it could have been the pack, so uninstalled and installed a pack I used to use (Gordian.Knot.Codec.Pack.1.9) but the exact same problem.Gspot says I have the xvid codec installedFile properties agree the codec is xvidMplayer properties codec said XviD MPEG-4 Video DecoderAnd this is what I don’t understandIf I boot the computer into safe mode the movies play without problemIve tried other players, mplayer 6.4 & vlc both with no changeHELP this is driving me crazy

n7Epsilon
Do you have an nVidia Card ?There was a bug in the release before 77.77 that caused this issue...Try updating to the latest drivers (81.85) from here:http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.85.html Edited October 28, 2005 by ChipCraze23

I think that driver is for a 64bit setup.Went back to guru3d and grabbed 79.11http://194.71.11.70/pub/games/PC/guru3d/nv...ru3D.com%5D.exe(link taken for a europe download)Worked like a charmThank you
n7Epsilon
Actually the driver clearly is for 32-bit CPUs...But you can try here:http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.aspif you have any driver related problems...Anyway, glad you fixed your problem...
