Well, under my network connection i see a 1394 connection, i want to know how to get rid of this b/c im going to be setting up an unatended install and want to set a static ip. I dont want the ip to be set the the 1394 adapter but my nic card.

If it's an add on type of thing eg a PCI firewire card, I'd temporarily remove it, if on the other hand it's integrated into the mobo, you can go into BIOS settings at bootup and disable it. regards Z.
