something to capture the output of soundcard (digitally)

Is there any software to capture the output of the soundcard?

As in, there's some audio coming out, when you're playing a game, or playing songs, or when you're voice-chatting - then it needs to be just captured & saved to WAV/MP3.

I searched google and the results were hardly "good" tools.

Freeware preferable, but I dont mind paying for it either - one that WORKS.

Look for TOTAL RECORDER.

Shareware that will do Exactly what you want to do.

I bought my copy years ago and it just works!

Total Recorder...best there is. I've used it for years! It'll catch anything that comes out of your speakers, but before it leaves. There is a driver associated with it that can get a little funky, but you can disable it if need be.

Sweet. Didnt know about Total Recorder....I have always used SoundForge for anything with sound. Works pretty cool.

All-Audio-Recorder seems to be commercial.

Total Recorder was almost perfect - its just inserting a distortion every 60 seconds (being a trial version). If its purchased, that would go away, but I guess I can get by, on the shareware.
