Browse to "qc848enu\Drivers\WinAll\XPRS" and there are your driver files. Uninstall the quickcam, scan for new hardware, then when you manually browse to the drivers, go to that folder, click OK. Done. Enjoy. Make a backup for future use.

As Jeremy has suggested I'd think a fresh installation would be the right step to take next.When installing most hardware one should connect the hardware and then install the software. However, with USB devices it is often appropriate to install the software first and then connect the hardware. You may find it necessary to disconnect the camera, then remove the unknown device through Device Manager, then install the drivers, and then reconnect the camera.
