Boot error?

Rick

Recommended Posts

I am getting this error every once in a while when I try to boot up:

It tried to boot up using all drives then goes to to a screen with this on it:

Novell Netware Ready Firmware...then ver. # and stuff

RPL-ROM-ADR: 00D0 09E3 D4A6

RPL-ROM-IRQ: 11

RPL-ROM-PIO: D400

RPL-ROM-FFC: Here is counts from one to five

Then it tries to boot from cdrom, floppy, and scsi and after that I get a boot failure message.

After I reboot the computer, it loads up just like nothing ever happened.

The only info I know on this is that yes, it has happened on a previous install of XP I am not able to run Win2K because there seems to be an error with my NIC card and video..which both share IRQ 11.

Any ideas here?

Rick:eek:

Guest LouCypher

Sounds like you've got an option like "Try to boot from other sources" turned on in your BIOS. In mine it's right after the places where I can assign the three boot order options.

Just turn it off.

yep sounds like its trying your HDD, not getting it then going for the next device maybe set as lan...?

It could be your HDD is on the way out and not spinning up in time for the boot, how often does it do it..?

Does it do it mainly from cold start...?
