Can anyone Tell me what this process is?

It's called Ncpuby.exe. It's using 14,536 Kb memory. It's in my Windows system32 dir, along with some xml file called the same thing. I googled the name and got not even one hit.

You could try right click on it, click properties, see whether it gives any info (e.g. description, company,...) in the version tab. Also, if you open the.xml file in Notepad or IE, reading that may give a clue as to what the files belong to and what it does.

Since it doesn't come up on Google, my guess that it's some kind of virus/spyware/adware sort of thing! ;)

Better run Ad-Aware and/or Spybot - Search & Destroy!! :D

Ok, I right clicked, not much info, the only this is says is the origanal filename. ReDirect.exe.

I think it not a virus... the best way to find out is to google it up.... if it a known virus or something you'll get all info there... try finding where the file is located and see its properties to know who is manufacturer or writer of the file

If I were to trouble shoot this i would back up my info then disable the service and see what stops working

but i do agree it sounds like I.E. spyware
