Can I get Tablet PC to use my XP Corp Key.?

Featured Replies

I have a corp key for XP at my work & it would make life 100 times easier to use this same key on tablet PC. is there a way of getting the tablet PC XP to take this key?

I have copied the setupp.ini from the corp cd of XP to the Tablet PC XP but it wouldnt take any key.

I have a No. of tablet PC's & they are all shipped with Licenses for the OS. the problem is its retail & each one needs registering & has a different oem key. I want to use corp key to simplify imaging these units.

Tablet PC is very similar to Media Center Edition in its installation process.

You MUST use the Tablet PC key to get it installed.

EDIT:

[There is no corporate version of Tablet PC.]

seems the above statement is incorrect.

Using any other key (or modification to the files) will at best, install XP Pro.

Hi,

TabletPC binaries are already within XP SP2.

So if you have corporate license agreement with MS,

just call your MS TAM and ask for TabletPC key.

It's free of charge and really that easy, I have done it Myself.

MS states:

=================================================

To obtain a volume license key (VLK) for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005,

contact Microsoft directly and request the VLK. In the United States,

the telephone number is: 1-888-352-7140
