hari_seldon99
Hi, I have a properly licensed copy of winxp pro that I need to install in my PC computer ( I do not have any version of windows installed at present, only Linux, partitions etc are all ready with a nice fat32 reserved for windoze, which the installer will convert to NTFS I suppose). My machine has a SCSI hdd on an SIIG AP-20 scsi controller. Problem is that windows installer CD does not have drivers for that card, so, I guess I have to press 'F6' during the setup and it should load the drivers from a driver floppy (which I've made). Problem is that my floppy controller had malfunctioned some time ago and this will probably not work. I dunno much abt windows (I'm mainly a heathen infidel Linux user , which did not have any problems 'coz most linux cd's already have drivers for this card ) so I was wondering is an alternative way is possible, like: Can the windows installer CD detect USB floppy drives (provided my BIOS does), or Can I remaster the required SCSI drivers into the windows installer CD somehow. If so, then is there a howto somewhere? I'd appreciate any advice on this matter. Thanks for your attention.Regards,AR
chilifrei64
I myself do not use nlite but when I was playing around with it.. i think i can recall something along the lines of integrating drivers.. If not.. there is a way through editing some files that will allow you to integrate them for boot time use
InTheWayBoy
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can use a USB floppy...
lamaq
Yes it is possible to integrate SCSI drivers, take a look at this forum - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=88 or go directly to Bashrat's page - http://www.driverpacks.net/
hari_seldon99
Yes it is possible to integrate SCSI drivers, take a look at this forum - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showforum=88 or go directly to Bashrat's page - http://www.driverpacks.net/<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks. I'm a bit confused by the instructions in the howtos and was wondering if you guys could set me straight. The howto I'm following is here:http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/READING/addraid.htm I ripped the contents of the winxp install cd into an ISO image and uncompressed it into a directory. In step one, I have to add sourcediskfiles, hardwareidsdatabase and scsi.load & scsi parameters to the txtsetup.sif file in the i386 directory. I looked at the driver INF files for my SCSI controller (I have the files posted on http://www.ph.utexas.edu/~daneel/AP20/ )I can't seem to locate all the relevant sections to enter into the txtsetup.sif file. The sourcediskfiles section seems to be empty, and the SCSI.* sections seem to be missing. Also, in step 3, where is the WINNT.SIF file located? I can't seem to fond it. Please elt me know. Thanks for your attention.Regards,AR
