dimegrind Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I need to reformat my hd and I want to back up my Outlook files. What do I need to do for this? Does outlook have a Back up feature?
Railman5 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Easy peaseygo to Note make sure that you can "see" all your hidden files.....my computer/your "C" drive/Documents and settings/"your" account name folder/Local settings (Should be a hidden folder)/application data/Microsoft/Outlook/Then the office data file this should be of a reasonable size.copy this to a pen or storage medium.reinstall your opps system and office apps.then create the outlook account again.when done just repeat the steps above and overright the file with the backed up one.you can do an import export but this is the best as it gets everything as before.do this all the time especially when synking between desktop and laptops.. hope that helps
rjz Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 MS does have an auto backup feature for outlook. Do you want it?
pawan Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 (edited) You can use this Outlook 2003 Add-in Personal Folders Backup (a utility from Microsoft) to backup all your Outlook data to a folder specified by you, you can save this single file on a CD. I have a backup of my outlook, and it is more than 70 MB.Pawan Edited October 5, 2005 by pawan
