saturnX
hi guys ok i've gone through everything and it was going well, successfully slipstreamed sp2, hotfixes and wm10 from ryan's site. created the winnt.sif file using the development tools *still like doing it old school* and added on a couple more lines to enable me to set partition and file system on my own, auto accept the eula, turned off zonegames and a few other games, msn and msn explorer. placed it in my i386 folder and created iso file and burnt it. when i tested it on a system *new one* none of it worked. what am i doin wrong or did i place the winnt.sif file to the wrong place. Please help!

saturnX
yeah i renamed it and as far as i know i've done everything by the book... there is no mention of any other special windows setup for it to read from the winnt.sifhttp://unattended.msfn.org/beginner/winnt_sif.htm
Gee
I am not sure by what is meant when you say "None of it worked"Did the CD even boot?Anyways, assuming that it did. Post a copy of your Winnt.sif file for us to look at. We need something to work with.Don't forget to block out your serial number.
Marthax
As Gee said, post your Winnt.sif. Also, If you can, then post a screen of your UAXPCD folder so that everyone can see how you have arranged everything. Maybe, you did something wrong there. The biggest concern right now is your winnt.sif though.
saturnX
hi Gee... hi Marthax... thanks for checking in... to answer gee's question yes the cd did boot and it installed windows like normal where it prompted me for the user name, organisation, etc. I've placed my copy of the winnt.sif file in the I386 folder, used ISOBuster to extract the boot image file *even tried the one available on the msfn.org website* created my iso file then burnt from there. Attached is my winnt.sif file that i renamed to a .txt file so can be opened easily. Thanks again for the help.Edit: If you were to look at the file is the ;SetupMgrTag just above [Data] suppose to be there?winnt.txt Edited September 28, 2005 by saturnX

Marthax
when i tested it on a system *new one* none of it worked If I understand this correctly, then the [components] are not being parsed either or what?
Gee
I think he meant "None of it worked" meaning that it didn't work unattended. I am sure the install went fine. But he was prompted for information.
Marthax
Well, that was what I ment also. Not being parsed = None of it worked.@saturnX: So when you first boot up to Windows, you still get Messenger and all other things installed even though you chose to remove them with the [components] method? Andeh
actually, I have this exact same problem. Everything I have listed under [Components] seems to still be installed. The first time I made a UAXPCD it worked and the things listed under [Components] were not installed. With my new version I have made, it doesnt seem to work.
