bitzm2000
Slow Running GameI don't know much about computers.I have a computer running on windows xp with a 1.35 GHz AMD Duron prossessor , a 120GB harddrive and 608Mb RAM.I've been playing SimCity 3000 and it is very slow. I have it set on the fastest speed and it takes 30-45 seconds for a day to pass. The recommended System Requirements are: Windows 95 or 98 233 MHz Pentium processor or faster 8x or faster CD-ROM drive 4 MB Graphics Card, 16-bit color capable - DirectX 6 Certified 16-bit Sound card - DirectX 6 Certified 230 MB free hard disk space plus room for saving.Any advice will be helpful and remember I'm not at all knowledgable about computers so Keep It Simple and it's problally not something too difficult. bitzm2000
How do you defrag the hard drive and what is a good antispyware program? I already have antivirus so I'm good on that. Edited September 23, 2005 by bitzm2000
cumminbk
Alright do this1). Open My Computer2). Right click your hard drive.3). Select "Properties" at the bottom of the list that pops up.4). A window will open. At the bottom of this window uncheck, "Allow Indexing Service toindex this disk for fast file searching"5). Let the process run for a few minutes. If a window opens saying some files cannot but un-index select the "Ignore All" button and let the procces continue.6). This will speed up your computer alot.7). Once this is all done click the "Tools" tab.8). The second option says defrag now. Click that and let it run. It could take quite a while if it hasn't been done before.Good luck. Edited September 23, 2005 by cumminbk
