Hello,

I'm running Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 on a Acer Travelmate 2200 laptop with XP.

I want to know if it's possible to find e-mail that I have deleted?

I received and send some e-mail during March-July 2005 and after reading I deleted them.

Is there any way to find them back in Outlook?

Thanx

i'm thinking "yes" but i don't know where to point you. you could try searching the net, as well as here (outlook hidden backup). to my knowledge, now matter how hard you try and delete things like your browsing history, emails, names of file attachments, etc., all MS OS's keep a well hidden, possibly encrypted back-up of those items. so well hidden that you may very well not be able to find this stuff from within the OS. you may have to use a Linux OS that can access an NTFS (if that's what you have) partition and, even then, it may be difficult. you could start your quest here. although this was written with 9x in mind, i have confirmed that at least some of it holds true for XP -- including the CORP edition.

Don't want to shatter your hopes, but if you've deleted the emails from the "deleted" folder, chances are you'll never see those emails again.

There is no such thing as a "hidden backup". The PST file is encrypted, and once you delete emails, they are deleted from the .PST file.

The "recover deleted items" is for when you are working in an Exchange environment. In Exchange you can set a "retention time"... a period of time where deleted emails are still held on the server.

Your best chance is to ask people to resend the emails to you.

eh.. not so much.. using the SecureClean.. i was able to recover my old emails.. a pst is kinda like a hard drive.. when you delete something .. the pst doesnt get smaller unless you compact it.. so if it never gets compacted then the free space is still there and you can retreive the emails from that space as long as that space is still there..

So dont lose hope.. it may still be possible..

Best of luck

mmmhmmm :)

exactly what a friend of mine said a few years ago when he "lost" a load of data, including all his emails. it's not incredible at all once you understand the motives. now shall we look into "mirror imaging"?

atomizer,

I don't understand what you mean with "mirror imaging"?

What I meant was that I found it incredible that e-mails I deleted even in the trash can of outlook express are still on my computer?

I deleted those e-mails months ago! I even found old passwords I used, searchterms and so on...

I forgot to ask if it's possible to find deleted email in a hotmail account?

Or are emails stored on a computer from hotmail itself and therefore not to trace on my computer?

deleted emails from hotmail are deleted.. your not gonna get those back unless you can somehow convince microsoft to take down their servers and recover the data from the disk....... your not gettin those back....
