Cd-Rom Drive problem

Hey guys I got another problem, I have 2 cd drives and they don't work. There installed right but they don't show up in my computer.

Have any ideas?

how do u know their installed right? do they show up in the bios? if not then u need to fix ur jumpers

it onlys says "uknowndevice". I tried fixing my jumpers and it still don't work.

divers installed? it should show the actual name/model of the drive in the bios

Nope it will only say Cd-Rom Drive. And i put all of the drivers in for the drives and they still work. But whats funny is that they work before until i restarted the computer.

Goto www.bootdisk.com and find a dos boot disk to boot from and see if the drives will read from dos. If they do then that narrows it to a windows problem. If they still do not work my first guess would be the jumpers. Good luck!!

My drives work now. all what i did is uplug the ide cable and plug it in and rebooted the computer and it worked fine.
