win2k3 when you remote desktop - maps printers?

when i remote into my windows 2k3 machine, and i see a lot of "printer (from computername) in session 1 or 2"

The computername == mine

the session i guess is mine also

and the printers, are printers i have on my LOCAL machine.

is this normal?

Yes - this is a feature, so you can print on your local printers from the ts session. It can be switched off somewhere - I think it's a group policy setting.

When you go to connect via RDP, there is a options button...then go to "Local Resources" and you'll see at the bottom a section called "Local Devices". Configure as you like...

you can also disable this from the server side by going into the RDP conenction

start -> run -> tscc.msc -> RDP-Tcp -> Properties -> Client Settings..

enable and disable as you wish
