Famer Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 There's no way to make an sp1xp os disk into a gold version which is called sp-free. also if you have a sp2 xp os disk there's no way to make it an sp1 disk.. sorry ..
supadodger Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 even though there were both slipstreamed by me?
seapagan Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 When you slipstream, you actually overwrite files, change configuration files and more. There are generally no backups taken (unlike if you installed the SP over a working XP installation), so you are not going to be able to recover the original Gold or SP1 versions from a SP2 install or CD.You should still be able to benchmark the 2 that you have though. If you dont want to reinstall, just do the SP1 first, then install the SP2 upgrade on top of that installation.SP
