how do i do this automatically? im talking about the ones in the drop down address bar menu in IE. these things will stay there for wks if u let them...thats not very good.

note: i tried clearing history and setting it to 0 days(which works), but this doesnt solve my issue above in the long run.

My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Click "Show Hidden Files" and Uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System Files "

Goto:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Local Settings\History

Delete everything in that folder... needless i say more? that should clear the history and if that doesn't work then Google "CrapCleaner"... and run that...

This is a feature, however, if there were a few URLs you wished to remove from the list, whilst keeping the functionality, all you need is the freeware application IEHistoryView by Nirsoft.

i think those urls are stored in index.dat, you can use RegSeeker to clear them. think i saw a reg tweak too that clears history everytime you close IE. try looking here http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=49320

thx all 4 your responses. but i think the guy above really knows what im talking about. i dont want to d/l a prog in which i have to clear urls by clicking something everyday. i can do that now w/ clear history or clear recent document lists. i will take a long look at that post you mentioned. thx.
