Pantner Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Ok, here is my prob...im making a Unattended install CD for Windows XP (duh)when i try to use Virtual PC 4 to test it, i wants me to activate windows as soon as i log in...but, when i install onto a normal PC...it works fine...this is quite annoying, as i don't always have access to another PC to test it on, and i would really like to be able to test it using VPC...
gamehead200 Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Are you using an OEM CD, from Dell, hp, or Compaq to make your unattended CD?
Pantner Posted August 27, 2005 Author Posted August 27, 2005 im using a normal Windows XP Home SP2 OEM CD...not branded or anything like that...and it ONLY happens in VPC...no problems on a normal PC (well...not THIS problem anyway )
ender341 Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 just cancel logging in, then try logging in again, but you don't want it to activate on VPC
Pantner Posted August 27, 2005 Author Posted August 27, 2005 tried that, only way i can get in is through safe mode...thought of running sysprep from safe mode, but it might mess up my unattended install...anyone have any ideas??? could it have something to do with the VPC Realtime Clock or something???
