move my doucuments

Featured Replies

my "my documents" folder is moved to a different partition than where windows is installed. if i were to do a clean install of xp then would that folder be deleted thats on the other partition?

As long as you do not delete that partion and you reinstall windows on the other patition (the one without your "My Documents") You will not lose your "My Documents"

thx, now will i have to move the target path for my docs again?

u dont have to do that again if u move ur my docs using a reg tweak like wat ive done...

cant you just right click on my documents and do properties and change the path there, one you change the path it will ask you if you want to move the documents to the new location.

;  Relocate Special Folders

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders]

"My Music"="F:"
"My Videos"="F:\My Videos"
"My Pictures"="E:\My Pictures"
"Personal"="E:"

Just change the dir wer u want them to reside... "Personal" is equivalent to MY DOCUMENTS so thats the one ur looking for.... :whistle:
