Double-click CD drive in explorer starts autorun

Hello. When I bring up my computer, and I double-click on the CD drive under "Devices with Removal Storage", it starts the autorun. I would like it to explore by default. Is it possible?

Well that lets me set the autoplay options, but it does not control the behavior of the drive in "my computer". Double-clicking on the drive in my computer still launches the autorun regardless of the autoplay options.

Open regedit,

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Services>Cdrom>Autorun"

Set it to "0"...

Remember;

It is usually the easiest way to solve the problems by a simple google search.

Go google.com and type "How to disable autorun" and click search button..

The solution I provided is just copy of the solution in the first page in search results...However, if you havent asked this question, I would have never been learned this solution.. THANK YOU!! :)

Actually, that does nothing to the "my computer" functionality. I already have Autorun turned off, but double-clicking on the drive in my computer still launches autorun.

Believe me... I've searched Google. I'm beginning to think the default functionality can not be altered.

Well, it ain't working over here. :}

Perhaps the disc in your optical drive doesn't have an autorun.inf?

EDIT:

I figured it out.

GPEDIT.MSC->Local Computer Policy->Computer Configuration->

Administrative Templates->System:

change the "Turn off Autoplay" item to "Enabled".

finally!

I tried it. Before changing the registry setting, when I put the cd, autorun was launched. Also, I clicked it in My Computer and also it did AUTORUN..
