selwood86 Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Hey,My computer keeps making beeping sounds, it does it when loading stuff up and sometimes out of the blue, and it does when the red light is flashing on front of the computer. Is there something wrong with my system or PC?Can anyone help me on this please?Regards,Craig Selwood
MHz Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 You may find that your memory sticks may need reseating. Just pop them out and push them back into the slots again. My system started doing the beep thing, a couple of weeks ago. Basically the reseating fixed it finally, but it was time for a routine maintaince service. So I have to clean the heatsinks, lube between the cpu and the heatsink. Clean the intake and exhaust fans. Yep, it was quite due with the big dust buildup.A general service maybe due for your system?
army20 Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 lube between the cpu and the heatsinkYou mean silicone ?
ChunkDog Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Your system could be overheating, and the temperature alarm is going off (the beeping). Get a better Heat sink/Fan assembly for your CPU.
member11 Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 (edited) Make sure CPU fan attached properbly.Perhaps, you need to re-apply your "artic -silver" on CPU if you don't use Intel supplied FAN Edited August 22, 2005 by msfn11
MHz Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 (edited) lube between the cpu and the heatsinkYou mean silicone ?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes, with a Silicone Heat Transfer Compound. Lube is short for lubrication. Example to grease up, oil up, to silcone up... Edited August 23, 2005 by MHz
