Working themes on PE!

Because of Simon's wonderful PE, I was encouraged to build mine once again. It is still a work in progress, but I'm very glad because the themes are finally working!!

Here are some screenshots.

I'm not joking! This is a real PE built using BartPE Builder v3.1.3.

i can see that you worked over your uA cd so xpize is already integrated!

so you enabled theme service... how did u set the metallic theme? that's cool

another Q: how much time does it take to boot?

Yeah! I used the XP files for my UA. Hehehehe..

To set the theme, I used WindowBlinds. I was thinking of using Aston because it looks better, but I'm not familiar with it. And I still prefer using Explorer.

About the boot time, that's a good question. I think it takes more than 3 minutes to boot.. I'm using a dvd-rw though. It should be faster on a regular cd on a regular cd drive.

With WindowBlinds, I used this extra inf file to set the metallic theme.

I have a few problems.

1. The shutdown is not working, and I don't know how to shutdown or restart.

2. The theme is not set automatically on the start menu, only on the taskbar. (The Start Menu is set to "classic")

3. I can't use my existing nu2menu.xml files with xpe. I always get an error message.

I haven't played with the xpe-custom.inf yet, maybe the settings are there.

edit: I now know the shutdown command. But I still have no idea how to change the Start Menu to "XP Style".

man thats sweet totoymola,, can you tell me whats the benifits of doing yours and simons method of pe as compared to ubcd4win ?

im just trying to geta better ideal of the differences, i have a ubcd4win already made but i want to be able to have a nicer custom style like yours so im thinking of starting from scratch and learning to do it yours and simons way and i most definatly like the window blinds ideal, silver is nice

this is annoying,,

u are not using msstyle

xpe doesn't support msstyle yet..

u r using windows blind plugins,,, which is very easy to use

coz bart PE just a mess of PLUGINS
