FAT64 Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Who said anything about running "setup.exe", in DOS mode you need to run "d:\i386\winnt.exe". Also, 64Mb is the minimum RAM required for XP, and I think the installation WILL fail anyway!

FAT64 Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 (edited) You will only need "smartdrv.exe" if you boot from a Win98 floppy. Have a look here ... http://freepctech.com/pc/002/files010.shtml Edited August 7, 2005 by FAT64
dirtwarrior Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 off topic so forgive me.@ fat 64 I have software that says do I want to format to fat 64. I never heard of that is there using clusters of this size> What do you use for this cluster size?
FAT64 Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 AFAIK there is no such thing as FAT64. The Table would be just too big! FAT32 isn't fully implemented as the Tables would be 16Gb (x2 because there is a backup FAT, so actually 32Gb, I think Windows only uses 19 bits of the possible maximum of 32.
