Vetti Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Well, I got Windows Vista Beta 1 and extracted the ISO, and am running setup from my hard drive. However, I get an error. An error occured while creating Setup boot folderAnyone know how to fix this, or am I doing something wrong? I don't have a DVD burner or I would burn this and do it that way.
harunaksoy Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Why did you extract the ISO? Just burn it on DVD or mount it with daemon tools. You should not mess with the ISO.
Vetti Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 Dude, I don't have a DVD burner. I also don't know what you mean by mounting it, could you tell me?
liquidplasmaflow Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Mounting it means using a program like Daemon Tools to make your ISO show up in My Computer as an extra CD/DVD-ROM drive.
Vetti Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 Ah. Sort of like mounting a CD in Linux. It makes it so it's able to be used. Is Daemon Tools a free program?
Vetti Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 Thanks for the help you guys. I actually got it working for the most part.
Vetti Posted July 29, 2005 Author Posted July 29, 2005 Well, I used Daemon Tools to emulate it, but it still gives me that error. Odd...
Blam-O! Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 did you mess with the ISO or did you use the orginal untouched ISO when using Daemon Tools to mount it?Daemon Tools will do the job if the PC is up to date via the requirments and the ISO is a REAL untouched release from Micro$oft. (and make sure you have enough free space on your HD...)
Joor Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I have same problem here, using Daemon to mount ..but get an error "is not a valid win32bit application" This is with vista 64 bit version..
