chiners_68 Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Currently have office 2000 installed & the start menu default mail icon is set to outlook 2000. When I do an install of office 2003 over the top it does not update this icon to outlook 2003.exe path. Does anyone know the reg key for me to set up a script to change this.cheers
ziegel Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Why are you trying to use Outlook 2000 and 2003 at the same time? I'm not absolutely sure whether Outlook 2003 can co-exist with older Outlook versions on the same machine at all...BTW to update the shortcut's destination, just simply rightclick on the icon in the start menu, select properties and make the change. You don't need the registry for this (however this is definitely not normal behaviour according to my experience).
chilifrei64 Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 When you install outlook 2003.. it will remove previous versions.. it will not give you the option to keep the old one. That being said.. if you make it so windows doesnt think that 2000 is installed.. you can run both.. but that wasnt your question..To change the Icon.. do as ziegel says
