floppy tape drive cable

Recommended Posts

Hello?

I'd like to resurrect my old 420 MB Conner Tape Drive

that is connected to the floppy data cable.

Tape drive's data cable is broken and I need to replace it.

Does anyone know where I could get/order it?

I tried to contact Seagate/Conner but being an obsolete

device it is, they do not support this device anymore.

Thanks.

Hi IcemanND,

Thanks for your feedback.

Well, the broken cable itself looks very alike

to the standard floppy cable but has wider width.

The tape drive itself has the pin-style connector.

I actually tried using a regular standard floppy cable

but the tape drive won't work.

For your information, the broken cable used to work

such that one end gets connected to the tape drive and

the other end to the floppy connector on the system board.

And, the actual floppy drive is connected to the middle

connector (floppy) on the broken cable, and this middle

connector is the part that's broken sadly.

If I can make this tape drive working using a regular standard

floppy cable somehow, that'll be wonderful.

Regards,
