Hello

I'm currently messing around with W2k server and trying to setup active directory for a few users.

Am I right in thinking that active directory is what one uses to allow users to store their applications settings on a central computer, so that no matter which PC they log in with, their settings in Word, Excel, etc will always remain the same?

If so, is this fairly straight forward to setup? Otherwise, please correct me :)

When a person logs into the active directory from teh client, I would like them to receive a small quota on the server, so that they can save documents there, and regardless of which PC they use, this share will always be mounted on their client machine.

Again, how simple is this?

Last question, where does user information get stored on the server? My Active Directory directory is f:\sysvol\ and in there are folders like f:\sysvol\sysvol\MYDOMAIN.com\ Is it in there that the user information is stored?

Any pointers would be great.

Regards

Hamish
