This is just an update,

I'm working on this issue now.

What I've found out so far is:

There is a difference somewhere in the ntlrdr and/or ntdetect for the various service packs, distributers (Dell, Compaq/HP), and home/pro.

Also, got to find a way to detect the correct settings for the boot.ini

Finally checking on driver versions for SATA devices.
