Hopefully we can both help each other out here. as far as I know mcafee uses cookies and active x for updates. I've looked around on the net and found complaints that mcafee does not auto update if ie is not the default browser. so my assumption is too look at the controls installed and cookies all under ie. I'm starting with this later today hopefully this worx - and then I'll shout back. any developments your side please shout aswell. Thanx in advance....

To integrate registration, just register as normal, then export the reg settings for mcafee into a new reg file.

Add this registry file after installation of the program.

Hope that helps

Hi TjobzzZ

Sorry must be a blonde thing but I ran throught the whole registry and could not find much to export. Could you please tell me where I'm supposed to export. Your help this far is much appreciated...

Hmm, I don't know anything about registry or anything, go figure, so I just opened it up and browsed a few things and found that the following file opens the registration process ..

file://C:\Program Files\McAfee.com\Agent\mcregwiz.exe

EDIT: Something else I found was that the following link updates the program and DAT definitions, not sure if you had to be logged in, but I had registered the program with my login already ..

http://us.mcafee.com/apps/vsh10/en-us/vsh1...,&InstallType=2

I'm trying to find some way to have a program look at the current files and when I update the files with the registration details and all the current updates, to make a silent installation of the files it adds and maybe that would include the reg details ALONG with the most recent upgrades!

Use the search function of "regedit" and search for "mcafee" then export the root from mcafee to a .reg file
