WoRdUp48 Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 The only thind i can tell ya is to make sure you are running the right exe file. The guide is actually slightly incorrect...it should read something like this:Step 3 should read like this: Go to "(X):\Office2003" folder and run "Admin (Y).exe"X is the letter of your hard drive where the pack was extracted, and Y is the letter of your CD drive. The Adimn exe you run corresponds with your CD drive letter, and the Slip exe file corresponds with the letter of your hard drive.Try that and see if it helps!
dale5605 Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 (edited) Well in that case the directions are very misleading...Thanks for the help, it works now. Edited August 27, 2005 by dale5605
Xable Posted August 27, 2005 Author Posted August 27, 2005 Ha Ha, ppl the guide is not set in concrete... you are allowed to use some initiative Thanxs for pointing it out WoRdUp48, notice anything else pls feel free
dale5605 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Hehe, well thanks for updating the guide anyway. And thanks very much for this also. It was very simple to do and worked wonderfully.
Suren Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Hello guys,I'm getting the following error. that i have post as a Attachment
WoRdUp48 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I've actually never seen that error....perhaps the author can help out a bit, and when he gets time hopefully he will update the guide and the outlook junk mail patch to the newest one...WoRdUp48
WoRdUp48 Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Has this project perhaps been abandoned? Have not heard any news as of late?
Xable Posted September 14, 2005 Author Posted September 14, 2005 hello WoRdUp48, i update on every second wednesday of the month so expect an update soon. However i don`t use office xp anymore, it`s kind of a pain to make the slip pack for it now plus it has had hardly any downloads so, i`ve decided to discontinue it for now. If enough ppl want it back i`ll resurect it but for now it`s gone.
WoRdUp48 Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 thanks for the update Neanderthal. I hope an update comes soon! Also, regarding office xp, i think that is a good idea...it is pretty old now...almost 5 years old i think.keep up the good work!
dale5605 Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 I'm using 2003 so I suppose I don't mind.
dale5605 Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Thanks for the update Neanderthal. It's working perfect and it is completely up to date. nice work
pawan Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 (edited) Thanks Neanderthal, you have done a great job, now I have Office 2003 upto date.Every time when I install Office 2003, I have to install outlook junk email filter update, now no problem at least for a while, and I think after updating, my office application runs faster then before. Thanks,Pawan Edited September 17, 2005 by pawan
dale5605 Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Service Pack 2 has been released. Not sure if you can include it soon but it would be nice.
WoRdUp48 Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 (edited) I guess he really only updates it once a month, but hopefully he can make an exception for this one!!What do ya say there Neanderthal? ooooh! just saw this on the first page of the topic!"Office 2003 UpdaterComing soon..." Edited September 27, 2005 by WoRdUp48
Xable Posted September 28, 2005 Author Posted September 28, 2005 Updates are usualy once a month, but, as it`s a new SP thought an update was needed I changed things a bit...now you`ll have to roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty a little.
