Gouki Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 The error message is like this people:An error has been encountered that prevents Setup from continuing.Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain more information.Press OK to view the Setup log file.--------------------------------------The log has the same thing as above.Any ideas? I have removed some bloat with nLite. Still, I never had this before and I always use the same preset. Thanks all!
D.Celt Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 You may have removed one too many things or burned a corrupt disc. The latter is the more likely so try burning it again (use a cdrw).
Gouki Posted July 5, 2005 Author Posted July 5, 2005 I didnt burned the ISO. Im using Virtual PC.Anyone knows what does "catalogs" are? Thanks
bhurtel Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 You have compiled a bad CD/ISO with wrong settings, filesi have also faced this sort of problem many times,,then i overcome this problem compiling a new windows ISO
DonDamm Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 The word "catalog" here just refers to files which contain a list of expected resources and where they are. IF a catalog file is missing, then the setup doesn't know what to look for, where it is located, or what it should do with it. So, it stops.
