lansing Posted July 1, 2005 Share Posted July 1, 2005 all my startup programs fail to run at windows start, when i run msconfig, the startup tab only shows the one that i disable before, all the one that were set to run are missing. lansing Posted July 3, 2005 Author Share Posted July 3, 2005 I'm using Windows XP sp2, there are several services and programs are set the run at system start, like the antivirus and the hotkey for my keyboard, but after the incident, all these programs and services did not run at system start, the only icons i see at the bottom right now are the volume icon and connection icon.i don't know what has happened to my computer before. DonDamm Posted July 8, 2005 Share Posted July 8, 2005 The Run- folder is just the place msconfig puts the keys so they can be later restored. It is a clever trick which I use often when disabling keys that I might want to restore later. That way they don't get really deleted just made non-functional.
