About AGP

Im kinda confused with This video card and the AGP slot in my motherboard, heres the thing. in the description it says (Interface: AGP 4x/8x) and my AGP slots only support 1x, 2x, and 4x. My question is, will this video card work on my computer even though i dont have an 8x AGP but have a 4x AGP? If Yes will the card give full performace or half? one of my friends told me yes and half the performance, and im just trying to make sure by posting here =)

It will work on your computer, but, theoretically at half speed. But since you're buying an awfully slow card, you won't notice much of a performance decrease.

heh the only reason i want that card is because its cheap. i dont really play those 3d games, just the standard ones like, counter-strike (only window mode with current video card), Day of defeat(same with cs), prison tale(current vid card cant handle the game), etc. at least something decent, i dont need something top-notch.

@bomb i think u can play all those games with the built in intel graphix card also but its a bit crappy

well i was just looking for a video card that can play the decent games, not those high tech 3d games with a 4x AGP interface.

well it may be cheap but im sure it can still be tweaked to work decent for the price,

check out over clocking for that one you might be able to push it alittle if it can handle it

what does overclock mean? sorry im new at this.

Overclocking means to set the frequency of your memory or processor higher than intended.
